Atlantic Powertrain & Equipment Inc is located at 30 Glencoe Drive in Donovan's Industrial Park. Up to ten years ago owner, Chris Dunn, had been employed in the heavy duty construction industry for 26 years, and was no longer satisfied to work for someone else. So, he decided it was time to put his considerable skills and the knowledge that he had acquired to good use, and to become an entrepreneur himself. With the support of his wife, Rosanne, and their two sons, Matt and Andy, Chris opened his own store in January, 2002 at 1179 Topsail Road. As every business owner knows, the first two or three years are always the toughest.... attracting customers, hiring the right staff, inventory control, maintaining cash How, etc. It all requires a lot of hard work and good decision making. And, of course, you learn best from the mistakes you make, mistakes that can be costly at the time you make them, but which prove to be invaluable down the road. After the first few years the business outgrew its original location and was moved to Glencoe Drive. Now, nine years since its inception, the enterprise is thriving, The lessons learned in those early years, and a lot of hard work have paid off. Chris's company continues to grow and improve. He currently has a fulltime staff of seven, and plans for expansion are in the works. Atlantic Powertrain & Equipment Inc. is a dealership that focuses on the construction equipment industry from small medium and large size contractors. They retail Link-Belt Excavators, Yanmar Mini Excavators, Heavy Haul (BWS) Ez-2-Load trailers, and replacement parts for all makes of heavy equipment They serve the snow clearing industry in the winter time with snowplows, sanders, and sidewalk plows. In addition, the recently became the Cub Cadet dealer for all homeowner: products. The vast array of lawn and garden equipment includes ride-on mowers, push mowers, string trimmer and snow blowers. They also have a service department in which they service everything they sell. Chris and his knowledgeable staff pride themselves on in the quality,· of their equipment but in the service that they provide. They are continuously working to enhance their products and services. Chris would like to thank his many customers for their patronage over the first nine years.
